DFRWS Milestones

The DFRWS community has grown from a small group of researchers and practitioners to collaboration of thousands around the globe. The first conference was held in Utica, NY with 50 participants to formalize the field and identify challenges. In 2014, in response to international involvement, the first DFRWS EU conference was held in Amsterdam. DFIR Review was launched by the DFRWS community in 2019 to peer review applied research. The first DFRWS APAC conference was held virtually in 2021, leading to the creation of Satellite Sites which have grown in popularity.

Join us for the Jubilee DFRWS USA Conference in Chicago (July 22 – 25)!

In addition to a robust technical program, there will be keynotes by Gene Spafford and Steven DeBrota, the Women in Forensic Computing workshop, a fun Forensic Rodeo, and other amazing learning opportunities and social activities.

DFRWS is more than just the premier digital forensics research conference; it’s a place to make friends, forge impactful research and industry collaborations, and come up with novel ideas that push the field forward, all while creating memorable experiences!

By concentrating the collective capabilities of the international digital forensic community, DFRWS has helped define and advance the field and has contributed lasting solutions to high priority challenges. The graph besides shows some highlights.

DFRWS Conferences bring together practitioners, researchers, developers, and students from around the world in a safe and nurturing environment. This Jubilee event promises to be the best attended yet, including long-time members of the digital forensic community and new participants in DFRWS. Come learn, network, and celebrate!
